Get your calendars ready to jot down a few dates when we will have theme days for the rest of the year. I'm changing focus of KOP to solely kids and family photography. Think red, white and blue, lemonade, watermelons, cars, tools, hotrods, etc. KOP is coming back for the summer and fall!! Get excited, we are!
As some of you may know, I went back to work full time outside of my photography last year. I worked at Amazon and recently I made the change to work for Summit Racing's new facility here in South Arlington close to my home. With the new work place, brings on a new schedule availability for the weekdays and weekends. The new hours are as follows:
Tuesday-Friday: 9am-1pm (Arlington Locations Only)
Saturday and Sunday: 9am-5pm
As you all know that I had a studio with my photographer pal in Waxahachie and with the change of ownership of the building we were in, the renewal of the contract for lease was not possible for year 3. I have enjoyed the time I spent the last few years in Waxahachie. We have decided to not lease a new space just yet. I will definitely continue to do photos there with current and new clients. I love Waxahachie and have always felt at home there. I'm very thankful for Stephanie and the opportunity I had to work with her at the studio.
Be sure to follow me on Instagram, my name on there is, @kellyophoto. Behind the scenes I have been working on some great projects now that my schedule is a little more clear with my availability. I'm looking forward to all the photo sessions for the rest of this year! As always, I have already been hunting for props! I can't wait to get back into the swing of photography again and getting creative!
I love, love everything about this image, so simple, yet it says so much. Beautiful.
Have you seen my new headshot? I love everything about this image. But I already got new glasses with the encouragement of my husband and the are completely different than what I have on in the portrait. Such is life. Always changing...for the better!
I'm loving this weekly post about clothing options for sessions. It is making me want to go shopping and I'm NOT the shopping kind unless it's camera equipment. My husband has to make me by new clothes for myself and when I say make me, he drives, stands over me while I pick out clothes, and makes me try on every piece I picked out. Then he buys it for me. Sweet, I know. I'm pretty lucky.
With the new studio being in Downtown Waxahachie, we have great shopping opportunities. You can find a list of great boutiques on the Downtown Waxahachie website. A few of my favorites are Multitudes, Plain Jane & Co. and Briarpatch! There are so many to find great outfits to make the best sessions. Beautiful clothes do look better for portraits because they make you feel better!

I love a good cake smash session to celebrate the first year of a child's life. It is exciting and fun. I always provide the balloons based on mom's requests for the theme and colors of the party. The session can take place before or after their party. Moms and Dads like to bring props for the party theme or I can provide props to go with the over all style of the session. I will always do one outfit before the cake smash part of the sessions. See below a few of the images from previous sessions.
P.S. Cake smash birthday bash sessions aren't just for 1 year old, all kids love cake!
