Dear Kindergarten Teacher,
The first day of school starts 32 hours and I may not get any sleep. But I wanted to tell you a little bit about Isabelle, my precious baby girl. I have spent the last 5+ years with my daughter, Isabelle. (I'm already in tears.) She is so excited to be starting school but I could see the nervousness in her body language at meet the teacher night. You see, she has been attending pre-school for a few days a week but most of the time she is with me, her Momma. I have to admit we didn't always make it by 8am, actually, we never made it in by 8am.
I am nervous just like Isabelle is about starting Kindergarten. As much as I try to seem happy and excited, I have so many fears. Will she walk out of the classroom and wonder around and will anyone notice? Will she eat her lunch and not starve all day? Will she be forgotten on the playground? Will she make friends? Will she get picked on by the boys? I have spent 5 years building my daughter up into the wonderful human being that will be starting kindergarten on Monday, she is beautiful, talented, creative and sharp. She can even make macaroni (with mom's help) and lemonade already. She knows how to use tools, she can help her grandpa fix the toilet, she can paint, fold clothes, wash dishes(not her favorite), color the most beautiful pictures, and she loves to get dressed up every day. She holds the screws when her Uncle Bug is working on cars, and did I mention she has 3 grandpas. She is passionate about recycling! Do you realize what you are getting when having my daughter as your student?!?
She is so loving and caring. Isabelle is funny, and she can make so many different funny faces. When she smiles, the whole room lights up and her laugh makes you want to laugh. She is spunky, and likes to say the taglines for the production companies at the end of shows, like "I'm a Lorya" and "Go to bed"! She is a hard core Dallas Cowboys fan and she loves to watch the games with her daddy but she can also polish her nails, fingernails and toenails. She loves to eat pickles, cheese and bean burritos. She loves music and dance, especially ballet. Oh, and did I mention that she already has a grandma as her guardian angel. That is pretty special. Don't be surprised when she prays before lunch to thank Jesus for his blessings.
Isabelle has everything needed to start the new school year, clothes, supplies, and new shoes. Tomorrow night, we will pick out her clothes, talk about how the morning will go and pray for a great first day of school with a new teacher. See you soon.
A Nervous Wreck, Isabelle's Momma
P.S. Here's a little snippet of her life up until now.
